Free Wi-Fi service is being offered to students of Northern Lakes College.

2020 HP Elks Pro Rodeo cancelled

It was probably inevitable given the world state of affairs.
The High Prairie Elks have announced with regret their decision to cancel the 2020 Elks Pro Rodeo.
This year’s event July 28-29 would have marked the 60th anniversary of High Prairie’s biggest annual celebration.

Show officially cancelled

The 19th annual High Prairie Gun and Sportsman Show planned for June 13-14 has been called off over restrictions and concerns during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We officially cancelled the show for 2020,” says Darrell Basarab, who chairs the organizing committee.

Golden slashes entry fee 50%

Plans are still underway for the 32nd annual Golden Walleye Classic fishing derby near High Prairie on the Labour Day weekend, Sept. 5-6.

Fair survived heat and flood, but not COVID

The popular North Country Fair near High Prairie planned for June 2020 has been cancelled to prevent risk and spread during the coronavirus [COVID-19] pandemic.
“It is with heavy hearts that we must inform you of our decision to postpone our fair until 2021,” says Colin Ross, president of the Lesser Slave Lake North County Community Association.
